This guide will help you decide which type of denim is best for you. It isn’t a straight answer, there are many factors which we need to consider before choosing our jeans.
For women blue denim can vary greatly and one popular choice is very light bleached, faded blue denim which is ideal for summery days/ evenings, it is perfect when teamed with floral prints or creamy/ pale pinkish materials.
Then there is typical blue denim that can sometimes be embellished with fading and tearing around the knee or around the ankle; this is usually perfect for a daytrip e.g. shopping, popping to the hair salon etc. and they can be worn easily with sandals or flats or for a more sophisticated look they can be worn with killer heels.
Then there is black denim which is usually saved for more formal occasions; this is perfect for a night out with the girls, black denim can also be worn for work as they can replace work trousers for a modern sophisticated twist, they are best worn in tight styles, figure hugging, or for best results wear with killer stilettos!!
For mens jeans the colour schemes are similar to those for women. Blue denim for men starts in slightly darker blue denim and these are usually worn every day, teamed with a casual t-shirt for an informal, casual look.
Then there is darker blue denim and black denim that can be worn for a more formal occasion or on a boy’s night out, usually teamed with a shirt for a more sophisticated twist. Darker colours are perfect with a smart pair of black or brown shoes, a pair or grungy grey boots or a fresh pair of white trainers.

The fashion houses have spoken and it's time to spread the word on the latest fashion trends for this coming autumn/winter.
Over the knee high boots have featured strongly in Jean Paul Gaultier, Louis Vuitton and Chloe collections. Featuring heavily in fashion icon magazines such as Vogue, the knee high boots appears in a variety of different forms from being made of suede, patent or bound leather.
Furthermore Dolce and Gabbana and Alexander Mcqueen have both been working on the art of optical illusion, developing unique prints that replicate feathers and fur. Feathers and tartan textiles are most definitely in this season.
Capes, shawls and cloaks are also big on the catwalk, from long flowing designs to shorter more practical bolero style designs with Ralph Lauren and Valentino adding a touch class and elegance to their creations.
Gucci has further developed their bohemian look that picks up on Russian folk characteristics as well as luxury rock and roll elements. Their collection featured tasseled and fringed boots, coin belts, paisley prints and large shirts, combined with tousled hair and dark eye makeup.
Another trend that has already taken off is ripped and worn garments, possibly showing a return back to the grunge trends of the late nineties. Ripped tights and ripped acid stained denim were present in Christopher Kanes spring summer collection but look to be retaining their popularity for the winter season. Dolce and Gabbana featured this trend in both their male and female designs.
Combined with the grunge look military fashion has consistently appeared in many winter collections following on from the rock chick look and a sense of masculinity. Chanel have included several military embellished jackets and waistcoats in their designs.
Men fashion trends continue to follow the traditional conservative lines of seasons past though not without innovation.
Classic design continues to dominate the male catwalk shows with the 1920's and 30's as well as the recession greatly contributing to overall design. Chanel suits had a strong presence sharply tailored, with broad shoulders and a double breast. Giorgio Armani has also opted to feature waistcoat and necktie combinations. Pinstripe and herringbone textiles are both in for the winter season, and it is recommended to pair them with solid-colored cufflinks.
For the spring/summer 2010 collections some designers have opted for exposing upper arms and giving new twists on the gladiator sandal. Many of the designers chose a travel theme, Vivienne Westwood's Milan show was inspired by pirates of the high seas. But Prada, Gucci and Misoni as well as Dolce and Gabbana continued to display what they do best, classic fitting fine suits coupled with skinny neck tie, v-neck sweaters and pristine cufflinks, focusing on toned down palettes of gray and white. Roberto Cavalli opted to tackle the economic crisis with a powerful blast of yellows pinks and greens on trousers, leather jackets and patent shoes. His collection also featured leather worked trousers, ripped textiles, military style shoulder embellishments and cowboy boots. The prevalence of the skinny tie in his collection was the only reminder that the fashion industry is going through tough times.

It's also all about finding the right fit, which means finding the style of boot that you love, with a fit that your feet and calves will love too. Women's boots that fall into the "just right" category are those that are the perfect marriage of looks, comfort and fit.
There is no type of footwear as versatile as ladies' boots. Smart or casual, sexy or practical... knee-high, mid-calf or ankle... leather, nubuck, patent or suede - a great pair of boots can transform a favourite or workaday outfit into something a bit special. Depending on your mood, you can use your boots to dress up or down. If you're feeling sassy and confident, choose that patent pair with the sexy, spiky heels and team with a floor skimming pair of smart jeans or a denim mini. Or if you've got that easy like Sunday morning feeling, pair a little floral dress, cardigan and opaque tights with a pair of slouchy brown mid calf suede flats. Whether it's boots for a special occasion or everyday wear that you want, there's a pair out there for you.
Knee high boots are a classic wardrobe staple that no woman can afford to be without. They are available in an extensive range of shapes, colours, materials and styles. Whether you want a practical pair of luxurious fleece lined flat nubuck boots, or a black leather pair with heels to lengthen and flatter your legs, there are so many to choose from. Mid-calf boots offer a great alternative if you want a slightly shorter but equally versatile style of boot. They look gorgeous with short or knee high skirts or over an everyday pair of skinny jeans. Opt for ankle boots to make a pair of boot cut trousers into a smart outfit to take you from work into evening. Your choice of heel changes the look of an outfit too - opt for high heels for a glamorous look for a night on the town or a special occasion, low or mid-height for a smart office look or lunch with friends, or flats lined with leather for a comfortable mooch round the shops. Boots look great with up to the minute high fashion or classic styles. It's up to you.
Finding the right fit is an essential part of every self-respecting boot lover's search. Many high street boots may look great - until you try them on. They may be the right shoe size for you, but the overall fit on your calves is just as important. High street boots are made to standard measurements - but real women are made to their own unique size!
A pair of ill-fitting boots will ruin an outfit, spoiling the line of your legs and making for an uncomfortable day's wear. But a well-fitting ladies boot will flatter your shape, elongating your legs and creating a beautiful look, which means that you can step out with confidence. It is a good idea to find a specialist manufacturer or supplier of women's boots that come in a wide range of calf sizes, so that you can find the style you want in a fit that's right for you. Length is also an important consideration - a knee-high boot may be too long and uncomfortable for a petite lady, or too short for the Amazons among us. Specialist ladies boot suppliers have a range of lengths and calf fits for every woman, to ensure that the investment you are making in your new boots is one that will pay off for a long time to come.
